Details of the pivot import mechanism

Pivot import removes existing records and replaces them with input records (from the form compartment).

The import pivot fields define the combinations of items that designate the data to be replaced in the host table. The records corresponding to the “pivot combinations” in the host table are deleted and the records from the compartment are inserted.

The logic of importing by pivot is that of updating by complete record sets.
